Privacy

Draft. This text has not yet been reviewed by a lawyer and may change before MindSpark Kids opens to the public.

The short version

We keep your email address. For each child we keep a nickname, an age and an avatar that you choose, and what they played. If you subscribe, we keep a record of your plan.

There are no ads. There are no analytics or tracking services. We do not sell your information.

Who we are

[The name and address of the business that runs MindSpark Kids will be written here before launch.]

What we keep, and why

Your email address, so you can sign in and so we can send you the one-time sign-in link.

For each child: a nickname (up to 20 characters), an age, and a picture from a fixed set. We ask for a nickname, not a real name.

What a child plays: which game, which level, how long, how many tries and hints, and points. We use it to make the games easier or harder to suit your child and to show you their progress.

How long a child plays each day, so we can apply the daily limit you set and the free allowance.

Your time zone, read from your browser, so that today and the weekly chart follow your own days.

Which version of this policy you accepted, and when.

If you subscribe: whether you have Premium, monthly or yearly, until when, and Stripe's reference numbers for your payment account. We never see or keep your card details.

If you joined with an invite code during our testing: when your free Premium ends. The code itself is kept only in scrambled form, and we do not keep your email address with it once you have signed in.

Who handles it

Cloudflare hosts the website and the database where all of this is stored.

Resend sends the one-time sign-in email, so it sees your email address and the sign-in link.

Stripe takes payments for Premium. You enter your card details on Stripe's own page, and Stripe's own privacy policy applies to what it holds.

Nobody else receives your family's information. We do not use advertising networks, analytics services or tracking scripts.

How long we keep it

We keep your family's information while your account exists, and delete it when you delete your account.

Expired sign-in links and expired sign-in sessions are removed automatically. Counters that stop too many sign-in requests are removed after a day.

Cloudflare keeps a short history of the database so it can be restored after a mistake, so deleted information can remain there for a short while. [The exact period will be confirmed before launch.]

Stripe must keep its own records of payments under its own terms.

What you can do

Download everything we hold about your family, from your account page.

Delete your account and everything in it, including every child's profile, from your account page. If you have a subscription, it is cancelled first.

See and change each child's nickname, age and avatar, or remove a profile, at any time.

Children

Children do not have accounts and cannot sign in. A parent or guardian creates the account and the profiles, and the games are played from the parent's account. Please do not enter a child's full name or any other personal details.

Cookies and storage on your device

We set one cookie: a random sign-in token that keeps you signed in. We also remember whether sound is on or off in your browser's storage. We use no tracking cookies.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes in a way that matters, we will ask you to read and accept it again the next time you sign in.
